Pete Upperton made no secret of being delighted with his draw in this year's Fishing Association Supercup final and made it count as he secured victory in the coveted event.

Drawn on end peg 11 on Partridge Lake (permanent peg 19) at Yorkshire’s Woodland Lakes, the Guru-backed star flicked a rig at cruising fish for half of the match, fooling carp to double figures.

Pete knows his stuff when it comes to fishing commercial venues.

It was a switch to fishing maggots long down the end bank that stepped things up a notch, with Pete catching approximately 60 carp for a 324lb total to secure the trophy plus the £20,000 first prize.

His win was never really in doubt, with second placed Chris Weeder Jnr way behind on 183lb 3oz.

It’s not the first time that Pete has produced the goods during a major final having won Maver Match This and the £65,000 prize in 2015.
