In a thrilling climax to the Feedermasters Championship, Adam Wakelin secured his second title with an impressive performance over the two-day final, held at the stunning Tamar Reservoir in Cornwall.

While the match was expected to be dominated by weights of skimmers and bream, Adam targeted the large shoals of roach and perch, leading him to victory with a combined weight of 62lb 06oz.

However, it wasn't a runaway victory, as a mere 10lb separated the top five anglers, meaning any competitor could have won on a weekend that saw over 2,050lb of silverfish caught between the 62 anglers.

Adam's closest rivals pushed him to the limit, with runner-up Frankie Gianoncelli catching 58lb 5oz, and day one leader Gareth Lambert weighing in at 55lb 07oz. It truly could have gone either way, keeping both hope and tension alive until the very end.

The challenging conditions at Tamar Reservoir put the anglers to the test, requiring them to adapt their tactics to maximise their catches. Wakelin drew on his experience of the venue and chose to ignore the skimmers and maintained a consistent match strategy throughout the competition. He focused on targeting roach, which led him to catch an impressive 313 fish for 31lb 14oz on the first day, while anglers targeting the skimmers around him struggled.

Top five results:

Adam Wakelin 62lb 6oz

Frankie Gianoncelli 58lb 5oz

Gareth Lambert 55lb 7oz

Rob Wright 54lb 1oz

Des Shipp 53lb 6oz
