Your help needed to get young Lewie fishing again

THE fishing community is rallying round to help a seven-year-old angler who suffered brain damage to get back fishing again.

Young Lewie Cox had a cardiac arrest and was diagnosed with a hypoxic brain injury in the summer of 2022. He returned home after 24 weeks in care, and has since shown impressive signs of improvement. But to continue his development, a hyperbaric oxygen chamber is required at Lewie’s home to give him the best chance of recovery.

His parents Katy and Gary have already raised £14,500 of the £20,000 required for the specialist equipment through generous donations, many of which have come from the angling community.

“We just want to give Lewie the best possible chance to reach his full potential, and any help we can get to hitting the goal would be amazing,” said dad Gary.
